Eve Connell
After exhausting the limits of oh-so-practical degrees in French literature, philosophy, and linguistics, teaching undergrads and grads, and launching an art gallery, Eve Connell spends most billable hours writing, editing, and training for and with a variety of clients. Her specialties include training professionals of all walks of life in communication skills with particular focus on business writing, public speaking, and leadership development. Assisting businesses and entrepreneurs develop all elements of their brand identity also floats her boat. (She also fancies herself a reasonably successful worm rancher, singer, and flower arranger, and just might be a wee-bit obsessed with discovering apostrophe and quotation mark “usage violations.”)
A loyal native Californian, Eve relocated to Portland, Oregon in 2005 only to immediately consider Stumptown home. Eve still marvels at how unbelievably easy it was to dive into vibrant community involvement of all types—joining her neighborhood association’s editorial force, board-membering for nonprofit arts organizations Art on Alberta and the Creative Advocacy Network, singing in the Flash Choir, blogging for the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art’s Time Based Art festivals, speaking on various arts/education panels, and writing for various news sources have all become integral elements in life as Eve knows it.
